Mark Bisset grew up in Shelton, CT. He received his BFA in painting from Maine College of Art in 1994. After graduation he moved first to San Francisco and then Sonoma, CA where he lived and painted until 1999. He moved back to CT in 1999, received his teaching certificate from SCSU in 2002 and his MS in art education from SCSU in 2012. He currently works as an art teacher in the CT public school system. His home studio is in Woodbridge, CT in an old farmhouse with a lovely converted barn. The warm golden light of California and the cool blue light of New England combined with a very rich palette of colors create paintings that are dynamic and exciting but also calming and contemplative.
